In creating the setting for collections or the exhibiting of ideas whether permanent or temporary, in transformed existing settings or the formation of new spaces, the collective values of society find representation. This is best served where the aesthetic setting of the work, the sequence of movement through the presentation and the organisation of the support activities are fused with the technical protection of the collection and the practical running of the facility.

Significant projects to look at include the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, The McManus, The Lighthouse, Centre for Contemporary Arts, Rosslyn Chapel Visitor Centre and the National Museum of Rural Life.
