We were pleased to participate in Cake Fest Scotland 2016 following our prize winning bake at GIA’s Edible Architecture 2015. This year we were representing Maggie’s Centres baking an interpretation of our award winning Maggie’s Highlands Inverness, completed in 2006. Cake Fest Scotland, organised as part of Festival of Architecture 2016 and sponsored by Stirling Council, was a great opportunity to witness the creative energy of the professional and amateur bakers of Scotland as part of the Year of Design, Architecture and Innovation. All of the baked goods were arranged on a beautifully crafted map of Scotland. Our Maggie’s Highlands cake – a mint chocolate chip building combined with matcha landscaped mounds were nestled into the surrounding seeds and oatcakes of the broader map. We had a huge amount of fun participating and look forward to honing our skills at future architecture related baking events!
