In 2013, Page\Park established a charitable fund as part of our employee ownership model. A key part of our ethos states that company profits are to be split between inward investment, employee reward and charitable purposes. In these challenging times, our employees have voted unanimously that the majority of our accumulated charitable fund should be donated to a collection of charities working on the frontline to support vulnerable communities locally and globally.
If you are able, please consider supporting the work that they do.
The Simon Community are one of the closest neighbours to our Glasgow office, and offer frontline services to the homeless community on Glasgow. Their #givehope campaign aims to support this incredibly vulnerable group through these unprecedented times. The Simon Community are doing everything they can to give people the chance to be safe, their accommodation services remain open 24/7, Advice Hubs continue to support and guide people towards help, and they have opened emergency accommodation with hoteliers and the support of the Scottish Government.
We have chosen to support St George’s Crypt in Leeds, as they work in innovative ways to tackle homelessness and vulnerable people throughout the city.
The money will go towards maintaining essential services such as ‘Growing Rooms’. The aim is the project is to support men, who have made the decision to stop taking drugs, from a chaotic lifestyle back into society. During the lockdown all the support and meetings are happening virtually – Zoom and phone calls, so the relationship with their housemates is extra important at this time. John, who runs the programme is working extra hard making sure everyone is supported fully, to avoid relapses.
Azuko are an architecture charity who aim to alleviate poverty through sustainable development. They work alongside disadvantaged communities in the UK and Bangladesh to improve living conditions.
Throughout the Covid 19 crisis, Azuko have been working across the Dinajpur district in Bangladesh to distribute public health advice, soap, and training to vulnerable communities. If you are able, please consider supporting their campaign to deliver these urgent services.
We have also made a series of smaller donations to three charities suggested by members of our studio team. These are:
The Trussell Trust – supporting local food banks in Glasgow
Vise up – a collaborative enterprise constructing visors for NHS workers.
