The University of Edinburgh – Public Conservation Masterclass
David Page and Natalia Burakowska spoke on Thursday night at The University of Edinburgh’s Public Conservation Masterclass . Their theme lead by Natalia revolved around the restoration of the Glasgow School of Art library, with a contextual presentation by David to introduce the issues and to finish, some speculations on ideas behind the original project.
Challenged on the need to so closely follow the hidden construction techniques, Natalia argued that the finished piece was a consequence of a way of making not just a superficial veneer – an attitude to accuracy symptomatic of the project approach as a whole.
