A number of our team attended the annual Glasgow Institute of Architects Design Awards on Friday 14th November. We were thrilled that our Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre project won a design award in the Conservation category. Built in 1924 Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre is a key component of the designed landscape setting of Kelvingrove Park. The Category ‘B’ listing of the venue reflects its architectural and cultural significance as the only remaining Scottish example of a covered bandstand and elliptical amphitheatre, despite having fallen into disuse in the late 1990’s.
Our recently completed project for the University of Edinburgh, 50 George Square and the David Hume Tower Basement, was also commended in the Education category.
