The Page \ Park team had an away day in Edinburgh last Friday visiting a number of our recently completed buildings. These included St Mary’s Medical Centre, 50 George Square and the DHT Basement at the University of Edinburgh and the City of Edinburgh Methodist Church at Nicolson Square.
The projects demonstrated a wide range of scale, program and contextual settings, which had in common the need to deal sensitively with important historic buildings.
The West End Medical Practice at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh is a low scale building carefully inserted into the existing historic building and landscape context while the 2 projects at the University of Edinburgh are refurbishments and extensions to post war listed modernist buildings to provide contemporary teaching expectations. Our work at the Nicolson Square Methodist Church sought to provide linked worship, meeting and social spaces for 3 combining churches.
It was a great opportunity for all of us to see recently completed projects and appreciate for ourselves the splendid results of the hard work of our colleagues.
