St.Cecilia’s Hall shortlisted for AJ Retrofit Award

St.Cecilia's Hall for the University of Edinburgh has been shortlisted for an AJ Retrofit award in the Cultural Buildings - Performance and Events category. Award winners are to be announced at an event in London on 12th September.

AJ100 no.89

The AJ100 ranks the largest architectural practices in the UK, measured by the number of qualified architects employed. We are pleased to feature at no.89 in this years prestigious list. Our Hawkhead Centre was also shortlisted for the Building of the Year award and team member Martin Flett attended the awards evening in London.

Parkview shortlisted for Saltire Award

Now in their 80th year, the Saltire Housing Design Awards reward and advocate innovation and excellence in Scottish house building and place-making. We are delighted that our development of private housing, Parkview in Dundee has been shortlisted in this years awards category for Multiple Dwellings.

Hawkhead Centre in the running for AJ100 Building of the Year 2018

Our recently completed Hawkhead Centre for Scottish War Blinded has been shortlisted for the sought-after AJ100 Building of the Year award. The award is given in recognition of the finest building completed by an AJ100-listed practice in the last 12 months. The winner will be announced at the annual AJ100 dinner in June in London.

Leeds Property Forum

Nicola Walls was invited to share our work at West Yorkshire Playhouse at the Leeds Chamber of Commerce Property Forum. This project forms part of exciting development plans for a cultural creative quarter in the Quarry Hill area of the city.

Neave Brown 1929-2018

Neave Brown has been an inspiration to generations of architects and students for the ground-breaking housing projects completed in Camden in the 1960’s and 1970’s which ushered in a re-appreciation of traditional urban city forms coupled with radical ideas for internal planning.

Gavin Stamp

Sorry to hear of the passing of Gavin Stamp. During his stay in Glasgow Gavin was incredibly influential in resurrecting concern for the historical fabric and in particular the legacy of Greek Thomson and Gillespie Kidd and Coia.

Ian Begg

Very sad to hear of Ian Begg’s passing. Whilst Ian’s adherence to an historical architectural language was perhaps not to everyone’s taste, his zeal and commitment to building from first principles was unwavering. His advocacy and vision for Scotland will be missed.

HBIM Seminar
