Pecha Kucha - Cultural Architecture

Page \ Park were recently approached by cultural agency TakTal to curate a Pecha Kucha on the theme of Cultural Architecture.

Our experience of cultural projects has historically been about working with larger well established organisations, however we are finding our focus is changing to reflect the diversity of the cultural sector and the rise of the grass roots, bottom up approach to cultural provision.

We were keen therefore to assemble a diverse range of speakers including Chris Coleman Smith of Hoskins Architects, Artist Toby Paterson and Jenny Jamieson of Scottish Ensemble, Cathy Houston of Collective Architecture, Alex Reedijk of Scottish Opera, Catrin Kemp of Cove Park, Alison Fullerton of Wasps, Francis McKee of CCA and our own Karen Nugent.

The event took place on 1st December at the Whisky Bond, and the fun and fast Pecha Kucha format meant a bombardment of stimulating and inspiring ideas.

We intend to distill these down in due course to reflect on the emerging themes of the night, but for now would like to thank our hosts, The Whisky Bond, Taktal for their slick production and our speakers for their fantastic contributions. Watch this space for more.
