Our colleague Karen Pickering was part of a expert panel involved in a discussion and debate, after the film premiere screening of ‘[Re] Imagining Glasgow’ at the GFT on Sunday. The event was sold out, with 400 people attending.
For Scotland’s Festival of Architecture 2016, the Glasgow Institute of Architects commissioned filmmaker Chris Leslie to create this new 15 minute film.
The film reworks Oscar Marzaroli’s 1970 film 'Glasgow 1980’ and uses previously unseen footage shot by Marzaroli, alongside new footage of Glasgow today filmed by Chris.
It shows how Glasgow has been torn down, reimagined and transformed, and questions the city’s seemingly never ending urban renewal.
