Altyre Street Planning Consent

We’re delighted to have received planning consent for forty-three new homes in Tollcross, in Glasgow’s east end.
With our client Tollcross Housing Association, Page\Park has explored ways of combining flats and houses to create a housing development with an urban scale and the amenity of a conventional housing scheme. The housing association are looking to increase the amount of family housing in the area, and so are proposing a scheme which has a high proportion of houses. It comprises two and three bedroom terrace houses, along with a mix of flats, maisonettes and three-storey townhouses, located in the larger pavilion blocks.
The project will be delivered on a vacant site, previously occupied by a mix of stone tenements and three storey inter-war blocks on both sides of the street. Our proposals seek to recreate a clear urban block structure, with clear fronts and backs, private and shared spaces, and to reconnect, by knitting the area back into the existing urban fabric.
The project is being delivered with a design team that includes Fairhurst Engineering Consultants, Raeburn Farquhar Bowen Landscape Architects, and Reids Quantity Surveyors.
