We’re delighted to have received planning and listed building consent for the refurbishment and extension of the Category B Listed Grant Lodge.  Grant Lodge was built in the 1760s by celebrated Scottish architect Robert Adam and is an important part of Moray’s heritage.

The redevelopment of Grant Lodge is a key element of the Cultural Quarter, one of the major projects within the Moray Growth Deal. The Cultural Quarter aims to bring new life and activity to the town centre by improving key cultural assets, creating new visitor attractions, and supporting more opportunities for creativity, learning and events benefitting the wider Moray community.

Alongside Grant Lodge, the Cultural Quarter will enhance connections between Elgin’s historic sites, strengthen Moray’s role as a cultural destination, and contribute to local economic growth by attracting more visitors and supporting local businesses across the region.

Works are anticipated to take place between 2027 and 2029. Once complete, Grant Lodge will return as key cultural destination in the heart of the community for generations to come.

The project is being delivered with a design team that includes Narro Associates, Harley Haddow, RaeburnFarquharBowen, Buro Happold and Lateral North.

We would also like to thank the Moray Council Planning Department for a collaborative and engaging process throughout, and to the funders for their continued support in the vision of the project.
