We are pleased to announce that a planning application has been submitted for the regeneration of Grant Lodge, a significant milestone in the delivery of the Cultural Quarter as part of the Moray Growth Deal.

Led by Page\Park Architects, the design team has developed proposals that will breathe new life into the historic Grant Lodge building, transforming it into a vibrant heritage, tourism and events hub for Moray. Since 2023, we have worked closely with Moray Council and a wide range of stakeholders, engaging with more than 600 people through an extensive programme of consultation to help shape the vision for the building’s future.

Our proposals seek to carefully restore and celebrate the architectural and historic significance of Grant Lodge, while introducing sensitive contemporary interventions that enable the building to support a diverse range of cultural, social and community activities. The project is intended to complement and strengthen the wider Cultural Quarter, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive destination that celebrates Moray’s heritage, arts and community life.

We are delighted to be leading the regeneration of Grant Lodge. We believe strongly in the power of heritage buildings to act as catalysts for positive local change and regeneration. Our ambition is to blend carefully restored historic spaces with high-quality contemporary additions to create flexible, welcoming environments for local, regional and national visitors. Grant Lodge will become both a gateway to the region and a place for people to gather for occasions of all kinds.

We are excited by the opportunity to reopen Grant Lodge to the community, allowing people to reconnect with a much-loved building that holds deep cultural value and many shared memories.

The Cultural Quarter forms part of the Moray Growth Deal, which is supported by £100 million of investment from the UK and Scottish Governments, Moray Council and regional partners, with £21 million allocated specifically to Cultural Quarter projects.

Subject to planning approval and the securing of additional funding, works are anticipated to take place between 2027 and 2029. Once complete, Grant Lodge will provide a range of flexible spaces for exhibitions, events, social and recreational activities, re-establishing the building as a key cultural destination and returning it to the heart of the community for generations to come.
