Page\Park Architects is thrilled to have been shortlisted for the RIAS Andrew Doolan Prize Best Building in Scotland Award 2023. Established in 2002, the objective of the award is to identify and publicly celebrate the best building in Scotland each year.

Page\Park have won the award twice previously, first in 2006 for our work at Maggie’s Centre, Highlands and again in 2016 for the Saunder’s Centre at Glasgow Academy.

The practice has also been shortlisted on other previous occasions, receiving a ‘Special Mention’ for our work at The McManus in Dundee, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, Theatre Royal in Glasgow, St Cecilia’s Hall in Edinburgh and Scottish War Blinded in Linburn.

The winning practice will receive the RIAS’ Gold Medal making this one of the most significant architecture awards in the world. Alongside the RIAS, the award is generously supported by the Doolan family and Scottish Government.

The winner of the 2023 Award will be officially announced on Thursday 30th November.

We have a tough job to select a winner from the four outstanding buildings on this year’s Doolan Award shortlist. Whether unlocking a tricky urban challenge or doing justice to a remarkable rural setting, each has a superb relationship with its context.

Their clients’ briefs could not be more different, and yet each building demonstrates exceptional imagination, skill and flair. I know Andrew Doolan wanted the award established in his name to celebrate the very best of Scottish architecture, and this year’s shortlist does exactly that.”
