We are delighted to see our Edinburgh Printmakers project included in the current edition of RIAS Quarterly on the topic of sustainability. We believe redevelopment of an existing building is an inherently sustainable approach. Adaptive reuse of existing structures not only ensures the maximum use of material lifespans but also reduces waste. At Edinburgh Printmakers the existing superstructure and outer building envelope was largely retained with carefully considered, precise new interventions to allow this derelict industrial building to be re-purposed.
