All places and spaces we inhabit experience flux, and it is how we react to this through ideas of care, collaboration and craft that makes architecture responsive.

Ella is an ARB registered architect who joined our office in 2025. Prior to this, she trained alongside award-winning architects in Scotland and Copenhagen, contributing to a significant range of projects from bespoke residential through to education and the public realm.

Ella graduated from The Mackintosh School of Architecture (MSA) with a First-class degree and at the same time received the Glasgow Institute of Architects 4th Year award, the MSA Portfolio Prize and was recently commended in the RIBA Journal for her team’s competition entry ‘Doocots’ for an Urban Retreat.

Years of work and study in Scandinavia has deepened Ella’s interest in context responsive architecture. She completed her Master’s of Architecture at MSA and KTH Stockholm, the latter of which formed the basis for her thesis – remedial landscapes in Sweden and the Isle of Arran, researching into global, environmental sustainability by proposing architectural solutions to issues of putrefaction in the Baltic and a marine no-take zones in Arran.

Ella continues to engage with debates and processes within education and has previously taught third year students at Manchester School of Architecture and currently teaches at the University of Strathclyde, leading a design unit in Year 1 for the past 2 years.
